Templin, the „Pearl of the Uckermark“

Templin, the „Pearl of the Uckermark“ is what the city, which was founded in the 13th century at the intersection of important trade routes, is often called. The most important and impressive building in the city is the 1735 meter long and completely preserved medieval city wall, which has experienced troubled times in its history. Outstanding features of the city wall, which is up to seven meters high, are three preserved city gates, two towers and 47 Wiekhäuser. The impressive ring of walls encloses the entire old town. A tour of the wall is impressive and highly recommended. The old town also has many pretty half-timbered buildings and other sights to offer. The area surrounding the town of Templin offers many lakes and forests to explore.

Overnight with the motorhome in Templin

The RV park at the lock is very conveniently located in relation to the old town. It really is a short walk to all of Templin’s attractions from there. 47 mobile homes have space in this parking lot, which is partially shaded. SAT reception is only partially possible due to the many trees. The pitch is quiet and was in a clean condition when we were there. The price for a 24-hour stay is 5 euros, plus 3 euros tourist tax. The parking space was probably free for a long time, but then the funding for the space expired and fees have been due ever since. You can pay the fees via parking apps or in the tourist information in the town hall on the market. (Order office checked) The disposal of your chemical toilet is free, drinking water costs, gray water cannot be drained. WiFi is not available.

An alternative mobile home parking space at the NaturThermeTemplin is currently closed until June 30, 2022 due to renovation work. There is space for 50 mobile homes, caravans are not permitted. However, this parking space is further away from the old town. You can also book complete overnight packages with sauna and brine bath as well as classic massage and city tour. Info here.

Brickyard Park Mildenberg

The Ziegeleipark Mildenberg is an industrial and technology museum located in the heart of the Zehdenicker Tonstichlandschaft directly on the Havel. An adventure park for the whole family. The history of the brick industry is presented in guided tours and through multimedia attractions on an area of 40 hectares. The exhibitions make it possible to experience brick production interactively: young and old can move through the old, authentic ring kilns and machine halls, build them themselves, crank, stack, press, look and, above all, hear and feel how the machines roared through the halls back then.
